Student Sponsorship
Eligibility
A limited number of student sponsorships, to cover registration costs, have become available through a generous grant from the Scientific and Technologic Research council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and Turkish Private Sectors. These sponsorships are available for M.Sc. and PhD students to present an oral paper or poster at the conference.
How to apply
To apply for sponsorship, please fill in the enclosed ‘application form for student sponsorship’ and return it, together with a title and abstract of your presentation, as email attachments to Prof. C. Toker (toker@akdeniz.edu.tr), Department of Field Crops, Akdeniz University, Antalya, TURKEY, before 15 November 2009.
Applicants must also include a copy of students’ current student identification card with photo, as well as a letter from their supervisor; otherwise the application will not be considered. Please note that students and young researchers from Turkey can directly appeal to TUBITAK (http://www.tubitak.gov.tr).
Post-application procedure
- All applicants will be informed, by email, of the outcome of their application by 30 November 2009. This allows successful applicants 15 days for final abstract preparation and submission to the congress by 15 December 2009 (see 'Key Dates' on the menu bar).
- All successful applicants for student sponsorship will give a reference number which must be provided as follows: in the "other special requests - Name" box on the registration form enter the words "Student Sponsorship"
- If, for any reason, applicants are unable to accept the registration fee waiver offer, please contact with Prof. C. Toker (toker@akdeniz.edu.tr) as soon as possible so that the opportunity may be extended to another qualifying applicant.
Travel and Accommodation
Please note that students will be responsible for all your own travel arrangements, passport and visa procedures, accommodation and meals other than those included in the official conference program.
Acceptance of your application should not be interpreted as a commitment by the conference or its organizers to any financial contribution other than the waiver of your conference registration fee. |
